Conçue en 1960 par Sergio Rodrigues, ce guéridon modèle "Alex" est une référence du style du designer. Avec sa structure en bois massif composé d'un large pilier central de section carré, ses quatre bras et ses quatre pieds donnant une symétrie parfaite, et dont les finitions arrondies apportent une douceur à cette pièce, cette table présente toutes les caractéristiques du style de son créateur, surnommé "le plus brésilien des designers".

Ces éléments sont l'utilisation du bois exotique typiquement brésilien, le style épuré mais néanmoins robuste, fortement ancré au sol, d'une grande stabilité aussi bien réelle que visuelle. Un aspect enraciné compensé par le plateau arrondi dans le même bois qui ajoute une touche de légèreté et permet aussi la mise en valeur de la structure de cette table qui reste ainsi visible.
