Réalisé dans les années 1960, ce canapé quatre places illustre de manière exemplaire les principes du design moderniste brésilien.
La courbe du pied arrière, tendue vers l’extérieur, crée un mouvement dynamique que vient contrebalancer la verticalité du pied avant. Cette opposition, subtile mais marquée, confère à la pièce une présence sculpturale. Les accoudoirs, délicatement arrondis, prolongent la ligne naturelle du bois et évoquent la douceur organique propre au modernisme brésilien. Le dossier, largement ajouré, allège visuellement la pièce.

Made in the 1960s, this four-seater sofa exemplarily illustrates the principles of Brazilian modernist design.
The curve of the rear foot, stretched outwards, creates a dynamic movement that counterbalances the verticality of the front foot. This opposition, subtle but marked, gives the piece a sculptural presence. The armrests, delicately rounded, extend the natural line of the wood and evoke the organic softness of Brazilian modernism. The file, largely openwork, visually lightens the room.
