Composée de laine, cette tapisserie présente une thématique récurrente de l'oeuvre de Kennedy Bahia, le Jardin Onirique.
Des fleurs stylisées aux couleurs fortes y côtoient des animaux exotiques donnant l'image d'une Amazonie rêvée.

Kennedy Bahia a été l'un des pionniers de l'expansion des beaux-arts dans l'État et est devenu connu pour ses tapisseries joyeuses et colorées. Dans les années 60 et 70, Kennedy Bahia, qui était très ami avec l'écrivain Jorge Amado et l'artiste Carybé, était considéré comme le plus grand artiste de tapisserie du Brésil, sa collection Fauna e Flora da Bahia, de 1973, étant appréciée par les collectionneurs du monde entier. L'artiste a également contribué à la diffusion de la culture bahianaise, notamment en adoptant le nom de l'État et en diffusant des informations sur Bahia dans tous les pays où il voyageait avec ses œuvres.

Composed of wool, this tapestry presents a recurring theme of Kennedy Bahia's work, the Jardin Onirique.
Stylized flowers with strong colors rub shoulders with exotic animals giving the image of a dreamed Amazon.
Kennedy Bahia was one of the pioneers of the expansion of fine arts in the state and became known for its cheerful and colorful tapestries. In the 60s and 70s, Kennedy Bahia, who was close friends with the writer Jorge Amado and the artist Carybé, was considered the greatest tapestry artist in Brazil, his collection Fauna e Flora da Bahia, from 1973, being appreciated by collectors around the world. The artist also contributed to the spread of Bahian culture, in particular by adopting the name of the State and disseminating information about Bahia in all the countries where he traveled with his works.
